A perfectionism workbook can separate a real quality requirement from a rule that keeps work invisible. Begin with one deliverable whose acceptable standard can be stated before another revision begins.

Practice workbook: One application

Completed fictional example — SAMPLE DATA

This example shows how to fill in the form. It is not a real person’s record, a diagnosis, a validated assessment or a promised outcome. Use your own observations and appropriate professional advice for actual health concerns.

Question or fieldYour entry
What output is stalled?A short event announcement
What is required?Correct date, place and registration link
What is optional polish?A second decorative layout
What release test will I use?Check facts and links once, then send to coordinator
What will I review afterward?Which information readers actually needed

Blank worksheet — copy or print

Copy the form into your own private document or print this page. Replace each “Your entry” cell with your own note; leave anything uncertain clearly marked as unknown. This page does not save or submit your entries.

One chosen attemptSend one short event outline
Evidence I will inspectWhether the coordinator can identify the date and next step
What actually happenedA rough outline was sent; one venue fact remained missing
Constraint that remainsThe venue reply is still needed
Revised next decisionAsk for that fact and schedule a bounded revision

A worked situation: One application

Fictional example. A job applicant edits a cover letter for a week. Accuracy and relevance matter; finding a sentence no recruiter could criticize is an impossible acceptance standard.

Practice across three actual releases

Session 1: choose one stalled output and write its recipient’s minimum acceptance test. Session 2: separate a necessary correction from a revision that only postpones exposure. Session 3: release a bounded version through the appropriate review route and record the feedback. Use three different outputs if you want repeated practice; rewriting the same imagined standard is not a completed session.
